Veterans Day Program
The representatives in Student Council presented a brief Veterans Day Program to honor and remember our veterans on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2002. The program opened with the presentation of colors, Pledge of Allegiance, and "The Star Spangled Banner," and was followed by Student Council Representatives giving the history and meaning of Veteran's Day. The Choir featured soloists Cara Western, Aimee Willis, and Kayla McCrary in their performance of "American Tears". The program concluded with recognition of the veterans that were present followed by the Hand Bell Choir. They performed "National Hymn".
Spirit Days
Your Student Council has been busy this year. They once
again set the 11th of every month as "Red, White and Blue Day." We
also showed our support for the Indianapolis Colts by wearing blue and
white on January 9th and January 16th. Students are encouraged to
show their school spirit by participating in these Spirit Days.
Fundraiser Activities
The Student Council sponsored a Hat Day on October 28th and a "Hat Hall-A-Day" in December. Students paid $1.00 for the privilege of wearing a hat for the entire school day. The students raised about $280.00.
In January, the Student Council raised $121.00 by sponsoring a Gum Day. Students paid $.50 to chew gum for the day.
In February, we raised about $465.00 by selling heart
shaped lollipops during lunch time. The lollipops were delivered
to the classrooms during the Valentine's Day Parties.
All money raised by the Hall Elementary School Student
Council is sent to Riley Hospital as part of the Kids
Caring & Sharing Program sponsored by Riley Hospital.
