Welcome to the fourth grade. I am looking forward to a fun filled, but challenging educational school year. We will be working very hard toward reaching the state standards for fourth grade. If you have concerns or questions please contact me at school or my home.
Friday Folders
Folders with the students’ work will be sent home on Friday’s or the last day of the week. Please go through the papers in the folder with your child. Remove the papers and return the folder with your child on the next school day.
Shh – We’re Reading!
Students need to have a book or a magazine for silent reading. We will have silent reading everyday. Students will have access to our library at Hall Elementary.
Calendar
I have typed a calendar with suggestions for you to do with your child. Please do as many as possible. Initial those you do and return the calendar at the end of each month. Put the calendar in the Friday Folder.
Open House
Please do come to Open House. It will be Thursday night, August 26 from 6-7. It is a great time for us to meet each other and for me to explain my classroom expectations. If you feel we need to discuss an issue or your child I will be happy to set a date and time for a conference.
Wear Tennis Shoes
We have P.E. on Thursday’s. Tennis shoes are required for this class. Please wear tennis shoes or bring them to school every Thursday.
Star Student
This space will be reserved for the star student. Each student will get to be the star student. There will be a bulletin board reserved for this in our classroom. The student may bring pictures to put on the bulletin board. The student will answer questions such as my favorite color, food, movie, thing(s) to do, and subject. My family includes… and something I want you to know about me. If you do not want your child to participate in the bulletin board and/or their information printed in our newsletter let me know in writing.
